HY+ Has Been Awarded the Design from Finland Mark

University of Helsinki Centre for Continuing Education HY+’s UniVisit service concept has been awarded the Design from Finland mark. The UniVisit concept includes six educational visit programmes presenting the University of Helsinki’s different fields of expertise. In addition to the University of Helsinki’s top professionals, the visits include connecting with for example Finnish schools, companies, and government organisations.

The Design from Finland mark of the Association for Finnish Work can be awarded for a product, product group or service that strongly represents Finnish design competence. The mark tells that the company has invested in professional design and achieved business advantages through design. User-centered design is also a main criteria for getting the award.

“Design is very important for Finland’s economy and competitiveness and its impact continues to grow. Design can and should be broadly utilised by companies in different industries. The role of design is also becoming more diversified. In my opinion, great user-centered design is an absolute requirement for the success of a product”, tells Brand Manager Johanna Lahti from the Association for Finnish Work.

“The UniVisit concept tells a story of the Finnish welfare state by combining the strong expertise of the Finnish government, economic life, and the University of Helsinki faculties. The UniVisit service concept is designed to show different components that make the Finnish welfare state democratic and functional”, describes Marjaana Suutarinen, the CEO of HY+.

“Finland is a land with high expertise. Our competitive edge lies in immaterial know-how. Value chains are reshaping, and design creates added value,” Lahti adds.
