Education, health and life-sciences agreement signed between India and Finland
A Letter of Association (LOA) between Symbiosis International University (SIU) and a Finnish-Indian consortium was signed on Sunday 9th of April 2017. The consortium includes University of Helsinki, Center for Continuing Education HY+ Oy, LAMK University of Applied Science, Oy Medipoc Ab and SahaManthran Pvt. Ltd. The LOA is aimed at nurturing wider bilateral cooperation between India and Finland in the fields of education, health and life-sciences.
The signing at the Conference on Internationalisation of Higher Education held in Pune, India has laid foundation to the collaboration between two great countries that enshrines global peace and non-alignment in its ethos while fostering innovation and development. Mr. Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister for Human Resource Development, Government of India was also present in the conference.
University of Helsinki HY+ a globally acclaimed brand for technology and innovation is slated to provide technical assistance to pedagogy in K12 education, teacher training, higher education, health and life- sciences. SIU with its vibrant internationalized environment in education will focus on scaling-up research and development, and increase access to international level of education in India and students reaching India from across globe. Actual and detailed Memorandum of the co-operation between the parties will be signed during the SymHealth2017 International Conference in May, 2017 in the presence of the Her Excellency, Ms Nina Vaskunlahti, Ambassador of Finland.
