WEBINAR: Phenomenal Teacher Education From Finland

Worlddidac Association organises a webinar about the Phenomenal Teacher Education From Finland on Thursday, 24 September 2020, 2–3 pm (CEST). The speakers are all education experts from the University of Helsinki with broad international experience. The webinar will be hosted by Kimmo Kärpijoki, the CEO of University of Helsinki Centre for Continuing Education HY+ Ltd, and Juha Merinen, the CEO and Senior Advisor of SMART Internationalization Ltd.

The webinar offers an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest trends in Finnish education in a global perspective. Professor Kirsti Lonka will give a general introduction to the new national K–12 curriculum, including 21st century competencies and interdisciplinary/phenomenon-based learning. Professor Jari Lavonen will elaborate how the learning of 21st century competencies is emphasized in science education, and Adjunct Professor Markus Talvio will demonstrate the importance of social and emotional learning in teacher education as well as in schools.
