Kimmo Kärpijoki named new CEO of HY+
Kimmo Kärpijoki, MSc, has been named the new CEO of the University of Helsinki Centre for Continuing Education HY+ Ltd.
Kimmo Kärpijoki has worked as senior sales executive at HY+ since 2017. He has also served as the company’s interim CEO in spring 2019.
“I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to Kimmo! The appointment process was thorough, and Kimmo convinced us with his expertise and skills,” says Leena Paananen, chair of the HY+ Board.
Kärpijoki’s strengths also include his familiarity with the company’s staff and his knowledge of the international education market and the potential of the various University faculties to contribute to the expansion of skills.
According to Leena Paananen, international education is in high demand, and Finland is becoming increasingly aware of the importance of continuous learning. This means there is significant potential for business growth.
“I would like to thank everyone for their confidence in appointing me as CEO. I believe that together with the highly skilled and experienced staff of HY+ we will be able to contribute to the growth of this company and the important work it does,” Kärpijoki says.
A total of 140 people applied for the position of CEO.
